LADY Jz Leather Bin actually got it's name from the part of my life where
I learned the trade and saved all the pieces I could of leather for projects
in 55 gallon plastic totes
and when I moved from South Carolina to New Jersey to open up with Duffys
Closet at the flea market in Manahawkin the name just stuck more because
everything we
carried back and forth to the tent each weekend was in totes also.
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning we'd go to our outside tent area
and unload for the day.
Each evening we pack up and load my Suburban and back home we'd go. We
did that for a few months until we were able to secure a spot inside the
market. That made
our job a little easier because we could leave most of the products we made
there all the time. I have not been able to work much with
the leather for the last few years
when my neck gave out. My back condition is still not strong enough to
go back to making products with any consistency at the present so these few
things that I have got
here came down from the old shop we had set up in Central New York State.
Deciding to sell these last pieces is with mixed feelings. I've
been working with leather since the mid 90's and miss it a lot. I
don't know if my back will ever be strong
enough to make as much as I use to with the handbags, yet the goal is to be
able to do some once I'm able to set up a shop again. Time will tell
for that. So with all that
I've decided that if I'm going to sell these last pieces of the Leather Bin
that they will also go to a great cause. The one's I've chosen of
course is the Angela Shelton Foundation
and Angela Shelton's new movies. On the pages you will find
which ones are having part of the price donated to each and the rest will go
into the fund for the
road trip to not only meet and see Angela and other's at the Army of Angels
conference next fall.

Side bags like the one below have their own story. While at the shop where I learned to work with leather they made these small baby biker bags with a strap and a little velcro strip that held the top closed. I talked the leather man into putting key rings and spring clips to the sides so that they could be hooked onto your jean loops. Since then I've widened the opening on top so that they actually have zippers in them now and plenty of room to get more stuff inside and out. The one below is the last of them that were made with deer skin and cut out western print flower leather stitched as over lay on the top flap and zipper closure under flap and lined. As with all the products here when I say sold as is it's mostly so that someone doesn't buy a piece and then not understand marks that naturally come in leather. Some of the trifolds on sale are old ones left from display and though I will clean them up on their way out the door, you will find nicks and scraps that they have acquired as part of their personalities over the years.
